Panasonic India launched its Semi-Rugged Toughbook CF-54 , comes with optional hot swap battery and much more

Panasonic India today launched its Semi-Rugged Toughbook CF-54 at an event held in its Gurgaon office. The Semi-Rugged Toughbook targets new verticals in terms of business such as automative, aerospace, office executives, retail and logistics. The CF-54 is successor to CF-53 and is 50% thinner as well as significantly lighter than its predecessor.

CF-54 basically comes with 14 inch HD or Full HD display with touch screen optional for Full HD version, 4 GB DDR3l SDRAM expandable upto 16 GB, 500 GB HD and upto 256 GB optional SSD. On processor front the device runs on powerful Intel Core i5-5300U vPro processor which is clocked at 2.3 GHz with 3MB Intel Smart Cache. CF-54 comes with Windows 8.1 Professional or can be downgraded to Windows 7 professional. 

CF-54 has 2 MP optional Front camera, optional DVD Multi Drive, USB 3.0, HDMI, LAN Port ( 1+1 (optional)) , Headset jack, Port Replicator, USB 2.0, Dedicated GPS, Rugged USB 2.0, True Serial port, VGA port, Dual pass through Antenna. The device comes with IP5x certified sealed port and spill proof keyboard.

The laptop have many possibilities for customization where you can choose optional hot swap battery or Optical drive based upon your requirements, there is a Bridge battery as well to support 2-3 minutes while you hot swap the batteries. For security the CF-54 comes with finger print scanner, Password security and integrated hardware security lock slot. In case of theft one cannot simply extract the hard disk from the machine unless the person has got the special screw drivers to unlock it which is very unlikely as per the company.

Talking about the ruggedness of the device, the toughbook withstands 2.5 Feet drop in any direction and is Dust resistence IP5x, the keyboard and touchpad are water resistant and there is a drain system to let go spilled water from the machine without harming any internal piece of electronics. The CF-54 can be operated under various weather conditions with operating temperature range varying as large as -10 degree Celsius to 50 degree Celsius. The device also has backlit keyboard which allows one to continue work in during night in low light environment seamlessly. CF-54 comes with slot at back which can be used to mount at any vehicle such as fork lift or delivery trucks when used in enterprise environments which is accompanied by shock and vibration protection.

Actual device price varies based upon the configuration selected by customer, where the basic model comes with a starting price of Rs 1,30,000 approx. The devices will come with 3 years warranty.
