UC Browser 10.7 review

UC Browser has recently launched latest iteration of much popular browser the UC Browser 10.7. UC Browser is leading browser in Indian and Chinese markets and comes 4th globally after Chrome, Safari and Android Browsers.

We installed this new browser version on one of our devices , to experience it. In short we liked the latest version of UC Browser thanks to its compression technology which is powered by Cloud boost now. For longer version go ahead and read the complete review of these features.

• Quick Access Cards: Once you have installed the application and you launch it, you are greeted by a Home page which shows widgets of different online content providers named as cards. These cards comes handy in reaching a website with just a single click. Home Screen itself has three pages on which you can navigate by sliding left or right. First screen act as an online content aggregator and displays icons of different popular websites from news, shopping, social media, games etc. Second screen hosts different other applications such as Hot Videos, UC Music, Gmail etc. The third and last screen has Travel related widgets viz. UC Train, Bus, Flight and Hotels. These individual pages are customizable and user can adjust them as per their need and taste.

• Personalization: UC Browsers leave it to the users how they want to personalize appearance of the browser. The browser comes with two themes pre loaded, first image above is having default theme and second image shows the second available theme. There are many online themes available as well. Users can even use one of the images available on their devices to be used as background theme, you can even change the background and text colour separately. Though the choice is limited to 6 colours as of now, but we feel most of the users will find their fit.

• Faster browsing and less data usage: UC Browser claims that users will experience upto 20% faster browsing owing to cloud acceleration technology, well we checked the claim and did experienced faster speed. The compression of data before serving it to your browser also helps users to save those precious MBs in this process, so if you are one who lives on mobile data then giving space to this application should not hurt you.
• Advanced Download Manger: The browser also comes with inbuilt download manger which lets you manage your downloads, choose your downloadable sources which you trust, pause or resume as you like it. Download manager also ensures the download starts from the point where it was left either due to broken network or any other issue. The download manager also comes with an in built file manager which gives you a neat break down of types of files present on your device making it easier to access files based on their type.

• Night Mode: Night mode actually comes handy if you like to read at nights in dark, it reduces the amount of light entering into your eyes by changing black icons on a white background to grey icons on a black background thus making it more comfortable to read in dark.
• Gesture control for videos: The browser also let's user to stream videos from popular video streaming portals and allows user to control volume, brightness, and progress control through simple gestures. 
• Facebook Acceleration: UC browser team has worked on optimizing Facebook specially and claims acceleration of upto 130% faster speed while using Facebook, we did experienced faster downloading of images on Facebook during our review.
• Ad Blocker: As the name suggests , when you turn this feature on, it prevents ads to download on websites and also blocks pop up ads. One can also check the statistics about how many ads were blocked and can also reset this counter.
