Finally Internet.org steps in India, UC browser announced today that it has taken part in Facebook led internet.org initiative by launching UC browser for Internet.org. As part of initiative Reliance subscribers will be able to browse 30 Select websites including Facebook for free using UC browser for Internet.org. Internet.org is a partnership between Social networking giant Facebook and 6 other partners which are Samsung, Ericsson, Mediatek, MicroSoft, Opera Software and Qualcomm that aims to bring internet access to two third of world's population increasing affordability, efficiency, and facilitating the development of new business model around the provision of Internet access.

In initial stage Reliance subscribers in Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Gujrat and Kerala can now access more than 30 news websites and services ranging from maternal health, education, news, sports, jobs, communication to local information.
