Sony Xperia T2 is mid range phablet from Sony, which is
considered to be a low price version of Sony Xperia Z Ultra. T2 Ultra dual
comes with same massive and impressive 6 inch Triluminious display however
other things have been cut down to lower down the price which is obvious. With
a rise in demand of large screens Sony Xperia T2 Ultra will compete with likes
of Samsung Galaxy Mega series , HTC Desire 816 which are now in similar price
range as of Xperia T2 Ultra. So is Sony Xperia T2 Ultra worth for the price in
smartphone market, Let’s find out.
Look
and Feel:
The phone is a look alike of its elder sibling Xperia Z
Ultra. The edges are rounded off but still the fact is it has got a massive
display and not that easy to grip. One has to really think of to fit this
device in denim’s pocket.
T2 is not IP58 certified i.e. it is not dust and water
resistant as Z Utlra but flaps are still there to provide a neater look. T2
Ultra sports a dedicated shutter button which is well placed, power buttons and
volume rocker buttons are also placed ergonomically well. To insert SIM one has
to use nails to put it as it doesn’t pop out on pressing.
The phone has a glossy finish on the back which makes
it prone to smudges and scratches at the back even if you are using with utmost
care. 13 MP camera with a LED flash light below it is placed on the back of the
phone. Over all build quality of Xperia T2 ultra is good enough and despite
being a humongous device button placement is good in terms of ergonomics though
its not easy to use with single hand.
Display:
The T2 Ultra features a 720p IPS LCD display which is
equipped with Sony’s Triluminios technology and Mobile Bravia Engine 2 which
provides a clear , crisp and vivid colors display despite of very low pixel
density of 245 ppi. Display of the device is much better than Samsung Galaxy
Mega series device and great for watching videos , playing games or browsing on
internet. To work with single hand Sony Xperia T2 Ultra keypad can be
customized to be fit in one side of screen so that you can type with single
hand.

Verdict,
price and availability
T2 Ultra is overall good device for the specifications and
price offered. If you are a fan of large screen device and are looking to buy
one then we highly recommend to go for this phone. We didn’t find any deal
breaker as such but glossy material which is not scratch proof disappoints a
bit.
Sony Xperia was launched with a price tag of Rs 25,990
however you can get it in the market for as low as Rs 22,700. You can check for

Nice review. The LTE part may not be available in India. My phone only shows WCDMA; that too only for SIM1. SIM2 is only GSM.
ReplyDeleteThe display is awesome. It is far ahead of what Samsung offers for its dual SIM phones. Another good thing about this phone is it has a very sensitive microphone, which comes handy when you record video. Video sound capture is quite good.
The camera hardware is good. But he stock camera app is not great. It is advisable to download a camera app of your choice. I am using a paid app called Camera Zoom FX. It costs around 250 rs. It works great with T2.
Thanks for the comments +Shantanu , it will surely help our readers.
DeleteBest part is battery life of 2 days and the 13mp camera goving too good pictires and nice videos. Screen is amazing. Glossy back cover is not disappointing but looks nice. Loud speaker is not up to the mark.
