Tech companies continuously racing against each other to come up with smart and better solutions for consumers whether in form of advanced features in mobile phones or more smarter and efficient home appliances. Recently LG announced Mosquito repellent Air-Conditioner using ultrasonic waves technology and now it has announced its latest addition to its smart appliances portfolio - Smart Bulb.
First of its smart lighting solutions is "Smart Bulb". It is LED smart light bulb which is able to connect to Android or IOS smartphone via bluetooth or Wifi which helps controlling the lamp's geeky features such as switch to soft lighting, adjust light brightness from your mobile device and gently wake you up in morning instead of traditional boring and loud alarms.
App from which Smart Bulb is controlled can run on Android 4.3 or higher and Apple iOS6 or higher.
Smart Bulb will come with other interesting features as "Security mode" which turns on the light when owner is not at home and "Party Mode" (available for Android only as of now) which flashes the bulb in different colors according to the music you are playing on your smart phone making your room a perfect party place. Another feature of Smart Bulb is , it blinks when you receive a phone call on your connected device which makes sure that you dont miss a call when your phone is not in your sight and you have kept it in your bag making it difficult for the ringtone to reach your ears and same way helps hearing impaired to know that there is a call for them.

The company has unveiled the Smart Bulb in Korea at SKW 35,000, which translates to roughly Rs. 2,000. As of now, there is no word whether the LG Smart Bulb will be rolled out in other markets also.
However, LG is not the first one to try its hands on Smart lighting device, last year Philips introduced its Hue light-bulb that has capability to connect with networks and then can be controlled by smart device to change the color and brightness from any place just at users finger tips. Hue provides users ability to tune white light and create any color.
Company claims these Smart Bulbs will run for more than 10 years, five hours a day and is 80% more efficient than traditional fluorescent bulbs.
