Micromax makes it to list of top 10 mobile smartphone brands globally in terms of sale.

Gartner Inc, the renowned research agency recently concluded its findings for Q1 2015 for mobile phones in terms of sales and Indian Smartphone brand Micromax managed to make it to top 10 brands for Q1.

As per the report first quarter of the year saw an increase of 19.3 percent as compared to last year, this growth is led by smartphone sales in high growth regions or emerging markets (excluding China), the fastest growing regions were Asia/Pacific, Eastern Europe, the Middle East and North Africa where there was a 40 percent increase in sales during first quarter of 2015.

"During this quarter, local brands and Chinese vendors came out as the key winners in emerging markets," said Anshul Gupta, research director at Gartner. "These vendors recorded an average growth of 73 percent in smartphone sales and saw their combined share go up from 38 percent to 47 percent during the first quarter of 2015."
